I love Tamara's patterns because they
are simple and the pieces make sense.
You can pretty much cut the pieces
out and figure out how to sew them
together yourself!  The instructions are
very basic too, but I've not had a
problem with any of them.

This pattern was great because it has
some great basic pieces for Ellowyne.
I did not put the darts in the t-shirts
and they turned out great...a more
causal look, I think.  The pants were
very easy and fit nicely, but maybe a
tad too high waisted... but that's just a
personal preference.  Everything came
together beautifully and fit wonderfully!
Reviews of these
patterns coming soon!
DBR:  Could you give us some background on how you came to design patterns for
fashion dolls?

TC:  I started making clothes for fashion dolls to dress my repaints for their
pictures. My first patterns were for Marley. She had the fewest clothing items
available at the time. From there I began to focus on the other dolls with limited
clothing options, such as the Harry Potter dolls and Emme. I recently added Tyler
Wentworth and 43cm Ball Joint Doll patterns.

DBR:   You design for a wide variety of fashion dolls, from Hermione, Marley,
Ellowyne, and Emme.  Where do you get your inspiration?

TC:  Much of my inspiration comes from my customers. People will ask for specific
outfits or styles for a doll. If the pattern is popular others will request that it be
created to fit another size doll. I like looking at the way clothes are made and then
trying to recreate it on a small scale for dolls.

DBR:  What are the steps involved in making a pattern?  Which part comes hardest?
Which part is the most enjoyable?

TC:  The pattern process starts with who the model will be. I use basic pieces for
that doll to hand draw a mock pattern. I sew the pattern and make adjustments to
the design for the best fit. When the outfit is complete I shoot photos, create the
pieces in adobe, write the instructions and post it on eBay and my website. The
hardest part is writing the instructions. Each person has their own style and I try to
be clear and simple. The best part is the feedback that you get from people who
enjoyed the piece.

DBR:  If a person has a problem while sewing one of your patterns, can they reach
you for assistance?

TC:  If someone has a problem sewing from a pattern, they can always contact me
through my website, through eBay or through email.
